Hey there Teacups! I hope you’re all doing well today. If you’ve read my recent blog post about our T2 masterclass you will have seen that I ended up purchasing myself some of their caramel swirl – back tea. You’ll also remember that in that post I said that it makes for an amazing tea latte. – since that post a lot of you have asked how I make tea lattes so I thought where better to start than with the caramel swirl. – Things can only get better from there right?
When it comes to making tea lattes you will want to use a black tea. They are the strongest of them all and will provide a full flavoured brew that will stand up well when plenty of milk is added. (Matcha is the only exception to this – because its a green tea with a punch)
When it comes to T2’s Caramel Swirl its definitely the ultimate in indulgent sipping, with stacks of super sweet caramel and choc flavours. It’s the perfect tea blend for an delicious tea latte.
How To Make A Caramel Swirl – Tea Latte
Serves 1
What You’ll Need3-4 teaspoons of caramel swirl black tea
200ml of boiling water
150ml of hot milk (I find soy milk works best with this blend)
Honey or sweetener
How To
Infuse tea in boiling water for 4-6 minutes then strain or remove infuser.
Add hot milk to it. (remember to lightly froth your milk before you add it.)
Leave a little of your hot milk the side and froth heavily to top off your latte
add this to your tea and sweeten if desired.
If you like it super strong (like me), Add more tea, and infuse for the same amount of time. (this is what I do as I much prefer it stronger) – If you want to be extra indulgent top this tea latte off some caramel sauce and a small sprinkle of salt for a delicious salted caramel taste.
So normally I would let you all know where you could buy this tea for yourself but unfortunately T2 has now stopped selling this blend as it was a limited edition (let’s hope they bring it back next year) – but fear not their caramel brownie makes for a great latte as well – and you can find that here : https://www.t2tea.com/en/uk/tea/caramel-brownie-loose-leaf-gift-cube-chocolate_brownie.html – If you’re going to use the caramel brownie tea to make this latte id recommend using more tea to really bring the flavours out, probably about 5 teaspoons.
As always you know if you have any questions stick them in the comments and I’ll answer them as soon as possible. I’m so not sorry for how much this post has more than likely made you want to drink nothing but tea lattes for the rest of the winter and beyond – in fact you’re welcome.
Have a great weekend teacups and I’ll speak to you again soon – Kimberley
