The Green Living Guide – Provamel Soya Milkshake Review

Hey there Teacups! Those of you out there who are vegan or those of you who aren’t able to have dairy, Will understand what I mean when I say that finding a good vegan / dairy free milkshake is a long and tedious journey. I stopped drinking dairy a long time ago so I’ve really have had my share of both amazing vegan milkshake and disgusting ones as well.

It’s really hard to get vegan milkshake right. Because of that fact I actually took to making my own for a little while, because until recently when I came across provamel’s amazing flavoured soya milk range. I hadn’t found a company that had managed to get it anywhere near right.

By chance I picked one of Provamel’s chocolate Soya milk cartons up in Holland and Barrett and actually ended up enjoying it a lot. I’m honestly really glad I gave it a chance because if I had missed out on trying this I would have been really sad.

A few hours after trying the chocolate one I was back into my Holland and Barrett picking up some more. Their range currently includes Chocolate, Banana and strawberry. So far I’ve only tried the banana one and the chocolate one (I’m not a huge fan of strawberry flavoured things so I haven’t managed to go that for out of my comfort zone yet!)

Chocolate : This is the first of the range that I tried. I went for the chocolate one first because I knew that it were anything like the Alpro one I would love it. You really can not tell the difference between this and real chocolate milk. In fact it’s so creamy and intensely chocolate that you would struggle to believe it’s dairy free. I’m going to try using this to make some dairy free ice cream. I feel like it would work really well.

Banana: After loving the chocolate one so much I had to try the banana one. I’ve never been able to find a banana dairy free milk anywhere so I held at hope that this would be tasty so I didn’t have to carry on searching. Safe to say this did not disappoint in any way shape or form and I’m so happy that I’ve managed to find such a delicious banana milk replacement without extensive searching. Just like the chocolate one I’m going to try and make banana ice cream with this. They are both so incredibly creamy that I think they would work perfectly.

I will say that I was a huge lover of the Alpro chocolate milk for a long time but these completely blow that out of the water. Even though I can only get these at Holland & Barrett right now they are totally worth going out of the way for.
