Hey there Teacups! It’s time again for another Let’s Talk Tea post this time around I’m going to be reviewing a Coconut Milk Blooming Tea from Fox Tea Club. I’ve been wanting to feature a blooming tea in this series for a long time now but just never gotten round to it for some reason. I have no excuse now though from now on I’ll be making sure I featuring blooming teas more often now.
This particular blooming tea is White tea, clover flowers and jasmine hand-tied into a ball, and enriched with a delicate aroma of coconut. I can not put into words how amazing the aroma of this blooming tea is I could just sit and smell it for hours. It has a sweetened coconut milk aroma and a slight floral not that takes more of a backseat but is still deffinelty there.
In it’s dry form along with the tea and the jasmine I could see just the tiniest bit of the bright pinkie purple flower that was waiting inside. After opening the packet and seeing that I was beyond excited to steep this and see how it was going to bloom, I just wanted to see what that the beautiful pinkie purple flower looked like in it’s full form. What I love about blooming teas is the fact that they aren’t just tea they are like little works of art and I can’t get enough of them. (I can’t wait to hopefully have the chance to feature more blooming teas as part of this series – there are so many different kinds out there that I want to try)
Brewing Instructions(For a pot) Just put one ball in a clear teapot, add some 180F water, and watch it blooming. Wait 5 minutes, and the drink is ready. Each ball can be infused three to five times. – I brewed mine in my T2 Jug A Lot iced tea jug because it was just so much easier. – I had half of it hot and half of it iced later on. Because I used 1.2liters of water I only steeped this once. While I am aware that I could have steeped it more than once (which I normally do with my tea leaves) – because I used a higher amount of water the results of a second steeping just wouldn’t have been great so I didn’t chance it.
I won’t lie from experiences I have with blooming tea in the past I didn’t expect the tea from this bloom to be particularly strong at all… turns out I was wrong and all of amazing sweet coconut milk notes from the aroma carried straight through into the tea. The tea itself had a pink-ish tone to it which I can only imagine is a result of the clover flowers. once it was steeping the floral notes from both the jasmine and the white tea got so much stronger and paired with the coconut perfectly. I tried this both hot and iced and I think I prefer it iced (I’ve always been that way with white teas). It’s quite naturally sweet so there is no need at all to add any sweetener to it. I would even go as far as to say this is the best blooming tea I’ve ever had.
Overall Teacup Rating: 5/5
