Hey there Teacups! It’s time again for another Let’s Talk Tea post, this time around it features Hultti Tea’s Darjeeling FF 1. You all know I’m a huge fan of Darjeeling teas so when I saw this in the package that Hultti very kindly sent to me I couldn’t have been happier.
Dry Leaves
Grassy – Floral – Light – Delicate – Slightly Malty – Slightly Sweet
I didn’t get much aroma wise from the dry leaves of this tea and all the notes I could pick out were rather muted but at least they were still there. It didn’t put me off though as almost all the Darjeeling’s I’ve had have been rather lack lustre in their aromas. But as I always say never make the mistake of judging a tea purely on its aroma. I’ve made that mistake in the past and I’ve well and truly learnt from my mistakes
Tea Tasting Notes
Grassy – Floral – Light – Delicate – Sweet – Ever So Slightly Vegetal
This is a very light and delicate tea; the liquor is a light amber in colour and it’s only the slightest bit drying in the mouth. As I’ve said already I’m a huge fan of Darjeeling so even though this tea’s dry aroma wasn’t too strong I knew that no matter what I was going to love this no matter what. Darjeeling is a very light and I love it for that, it’s a great blend to drink bother before and after dinner and I often have it when I go for/make cream teas as It pairs perfectly with scones. This Darjeeling was naturally sweet which surprised me a little bit because you never normally get that much sweetness in straight Darjeeling. It was the slightest bit drying in the mouth but not as much as I thought I would be (Darjeeling can often be quite drying). I could honestly drink this all day everyday and I think I’ll be holding back on using what I have left of this because it will be perfect to relax outside with once the warmer weather gets here.
Overall Teacup Rating: 5/5
You can find out more about Hultti Tea and purchase this Darjeeling for yourself here. As always Teacups if you have any questions at all either stick them in the comments or send them to me on twitter/Instagram @teaisawishblog and I’ll answer them as soon as I can.
