Hey there Teacups! It’s time again for another Let’s Talk Tea Post, this time around I’ll be featuring a hibiscus tisane from Two Sisters Tea. Two Sisters tea specialise in Hibiscus based tisanes and they very kindly sent me a few to try and review. I decided to start with their original one first and get used to the hibiscus flavours and from there I’ll be trying some of their flavoured/blended tisanes. A few months ago, if you had told me that I would be trying a tisane that was purely hibiscus I would have laughed in your face but recently I’ve really been enjoying it!
Especially in cold brewed tisanes I’m still a while away from convincing my taste-buds to enjoy it hot but I’m loving it cold brewed. At one point there would have been no chance that I would have tried it in anyway shape or form so I’m proud of how far I’ve come with it. I think it’s just grown on me over time I think and instead of being nervous to try this tisane from Two Sisters Tea sent I was excited to see what they were like.
Tea Tasting NotesIt’s safe to say that this tisane proved me incredibly wrong! I thought I would go into trying this and find that it was too much for me because it was just hibiscus on its own, but I honestly love it! Granted I did have to add a little bit of honey to balance out that tart hibiscus bite that we all love/hate but once I had done that I couldn’t stop drinking it. I can’t believe that expected to hate this it’s changed all the opinions I’ve ever had about Hibiscus.
I can’t believe how much of a gam changed this is for me! After loving this so much I’ll be drinking more and more hibiscus-based tisanes over the next coming months with this being so refreshing I can imagine they will be perfect for the hotter months that are hopefully on their way. I know I’ve been saying this a lot lately as I’m crazy for them, but this would make a great base for some hibiscus ice pops with some fresh fruit, I’ll give them ago and I’ll probably post about how they turned out over on my Instagram (@teaisawishblog). I’m incredibly thankful that Two Sisters Tea sent me these tisanes to try because I think they have managed to completely convert me to a Hibiscus lover – I can’t wait to try their flavoured/blended hibiscus tisanes now.
Overall Teacup Rating: 4.5/5 | The reason I gave this a 4.5 instead of a 5 is because I had to add the honey to balance it out – If I hadn’t have had to do that I would have given it a 5.
You can find out more about Two Sisters Tea and purchase this tisane for yourself here. As always Teacups if you have any questions at all either stick them in the comments or send them to me on twitter/instagram (@teaisawishblog) and I’ll answer them as soon as I can.
Speak to you all on Monday. Happy Steeping – Kimberley
