Hey there Teacups! I’m back today with another Let’s Talk Tea post this time around I’m going to be reviewing Two Sisters Tea’s hibiscus with cardamom tisane. This will be my last review featuring Two Sisters Tea and I’m honestly sad about it because over the last few months they have almost single handily managed to change every opinion I have ever had on Hibiscus and I’m so thankful. I’m so glad they wanted to collaborate because without their tisanes I would probably still shy away from blends with Hibiscus in them. I still can’t have them hot who knows this time next year I might be enjoy them hot all the time It’s a journey taken mostly in baby steps but so far, it’s been working.
Tea Tasting Notes
You all know that I’ve be loving the tisanes that Two Sisters tea sent me to try So far, my favourite is their Hibiscus & Pineapple blend and I’m so sad that after this one I won’t have any left at all. As much as they set off my heartburn (But honestly what doesn’t these days) they have all been really tasty and this one was no different. Surprisingly this one brewed a lot darker than all of the other ones even thought I steeped all of them for the same amount of time and the flavour wise the strength of this one was almost exactly the same as two of the 3 others I’ve tired which I am glad about because when I saw how dark it was I was worried it was going to be too much for me.I tried this both hot and iced for a change and it won’t come as a surprise to you to know that I enjoyed it much more when it was iced, as much as my opinions on hibiscus have changed I still can’t get myself to enjoy it steeped hot. When its hot it need much more honey to balance the tartness out and I’m not a fan of putting a vast amount of honey into my drinks, when it’s iced it doesn’t need much honey at all for me and its much pleasing to the palette and hardly has any tart bite to it at all as the little honey you do add completely balances it out. I would just love for the cardamom element of this blend to be a little bit stronger it came through in the taste but not as much as I would have liked it too and both hot and iced it is a little bit drying in the mouth. I enjoyed this as much as I enjoyed their original and cinnamon blends, but I didn’t love it as much as I did their hibiscus with pineapple blend, so I had to give it just a little bit of a lower overall teacup rating.
Overall Teacup Rating: 4.8/5
