Hey there Teacups! I’m back today with another Let’s Talk Tea post and this time around I’m going to be reviewing The Tea Brewer’s Lemon and Ginger Tisane. Both of the tea brewers I’ve tried previously have been teas and not tisanes so when it came to this one I was interested to see if it would be on par with the first two I tried or better. Lemon and ginger is a pairing I normally turn to when I’m ill, so I do enjoy it, but the balance must be perfect because you don’t want too much of one and not enough of the other. The last two blends of there’s haven’t been very well balanced so my one and only worry going into trying this was that this was going to go in the same direction.
Strong Ginger & Citrus Notes (Lemon + Orange Peel) – Light Sweet Apple Notes – Light Herbal / Grassy Notes – Very Sweet
This tisane has a very sweet aroma the ginger and lemon are the stand out notes but there is a slight sweet apple note in there as well as a light herbal/grassy note. I would have loved to have been able to pick out the marigold, the rosehips and the liquorice root and for everything to have been a little bit stronger. Though it has stand out notes none of them are very strong and that’s where it falls a little flat. It does smell just like the remedy I turn to when I have a cold though, so with that in mind I was holing out hope that I would enjoy it just as much.
Tisane Tasting Notes
Just as I expected this tisane is naturally very sweet (because of the ginger) and aside from that the only other notes that I could pick out were the lemon and the apple. I would have loved to have gotten just a little bit more from a few of it’s other ingredients and if I had have done it would have been well balanced. That’s not to say that I didn’t enjoy what it had to offer because I did it tasted exactly like the drink I make when I’m ill and it helped me start to get rid of a really horrible lingering cold that I had and for that I’m incredibly thankful because nothing else I had tried had helped. I managed to get 2 full steeps out of this brewer (4 cups in total) and my second steep was a little better balanced as everything mellowed out a lot so all of its notes were of the same strength and it reminded me a lot of sherbet lemon sweets.
I would say that this blend would be perfect for people who have a cold or a sore throat because it helped me to no end in that aspect. There been so many times that I’ve gotten ill while travelling or camping and not had my home comforts to help me I wish I would have had this tisane then because it would have been a god send. So far, I think that out of all the Tea Brewer blends I’ve tried this is my favourite and the other tisanes they sent are going to have to be amazing to knock it out of that position.
Overall Teacup Rating: 4.8/5
