Let’s Talk Tea | Dammann Frères – Bali (Green Tea Blend) | Review

Hey there Teacups! I’m back today with another Let’s Talk Tea post and this time around it features Dammann Frères’ Bali (Green Tea based) blend. They very kindly sent me this blend and another tea (that I’ll be reviewing next month) when the package they sent arrived I was so excited to see what they had sent because it was a complete surprise, and to open it and see a beautiful caddy of what I have heard is one of their most popular blends was a little bit of a shock for me. Out of the two Teas I was sent this one was the first to stand out for me and I knew I had to review it first. I don’t think I could have waited much longer to try it to be honest because it smells amazing.44433168_291605028127648_4804795534831255552_nHere’s what Dammann Frères have to say about this blend on their website: ”A subtle balance of fresh, fruity and floral notes is found in this delicately scented green tea which is just as delicious whether you enjoy it cold or hot”.

Dry Leaves

Ingredients: jasmine green tea, aromas of lychee, grapefruit, blood peach and rose (V)44265499_491167398045997_8708177244977102848_nThis tea has such a beautiful aroma! It’s floral, fruity and has a dash of something boozy. I don’t know what I was expecting from this blend before I opened the caddy but it wasn’t that and it left me excited to see what this blend had to offer taste wise.

Tea Tasting Notes

I wasn’t sure at first whether or not I was going to enjoy this blend as even though I enjoyed the dry aroma the wet aroma was much different and lot a lot of its best qualities. However I’ve learnt over time never to judge a blend purely on its aroma and so when it came time to try my first sip there was no hesitation at all. For me this tea was incredibly smooth fruity, floral and refreshing. I love this rose in blends especially when paired with green tea. So  for me it is not overwhelmingly floral, but I could see how it might be too floral for some. I would suggest using 2-3 teaspoons for each cup as it does brew a little on the weaker side so you need a little more for it to truly shine.44382263_718986918450731_5778872337784897536_nIt is a very naturally sweet blend so I really wouldn’t suggest adding any kind of sweetener to it. Like it said it just brew on the weaker side so adding any kind of sweetener really will drown it out completely. If you aren’t a fan of floral blends I would advise you to stay away from this blend you will not enjoy it, this is definitely a blend made purely for people who love nothing but heavily floral, somewhat fruity green tea blends. As it started to cool a little bit it did get a little drying in the mouth because of the jasmine but aside from that this blend is superb and I can’t wait to make my way through this caddy over the next few months. I happen to think that this would be delightful cold brewed so I’ll definitely experiment with it and let you all know.

Overall Teacup Rating: 5/5
