Let’s Talk Tea | Steenberg’s – Happy Hippy (Herbal Tisane) | Review

Hey there Teacups! I hope the first few days of 2019 have treated you all well, I’m back today with my first Let’s Talk Tea post of the year and this time around I’m going to be reviewing Steenberg’s Happy Hippy Herbal Tisane. You all know that so far I’ve really enjoyed almost everything blend Steenberg’s very kindly sent me so when it came to trying this herbal tisane I was actually really excited and relayed hoped that it would be just as amazing as their other blends I’ve tried.49474876_604830789947836_6938296152294948864_nHere’s what Steenberg’s have to say about this herbal tisane on their website: We developed Steenberg’s loose leaf Organic Happy Hippy Herbal Tea to lift up flagging spirits and fight those wintry blues or mid-afternoon blues. Our Happy Hippy Tea looks gorgeous, full of pinky rose flowers and yellow chamomile tops.  The rose petals smell and taste like a cupful of roses, uplifting for your nerves and spirit, the chamomile is light, mildly bitter and herbal (with hints of apples) and is calming, while the mints are soothing and refreshing.

Tisane Tasting Notes

first of all the aroma that this tisane has is very strong and mostly rose I’ve come to find that almost every blend that has rose as an in so it didn’t surprise me at all. Most blends with rose in however mellow out a little bit while steeping and are much more pleasant in taste than they are in aroma. That was sadly not the case with this blend though the rose was far to overpowering for me and only allowed the chamomile to come through in the background/aftertaste. Because of the rose being so strong this ended up setting off my heartburn before I even finished the cup I made for my tasting session. I can imagine that if this blend had been a little lighter on the rose it actually would have been perfectly balanced and the subtle sweet apple notes chamomile can sometimes have would have been able to round everything off perfectly49596022_525821851258327_2679134632842100736_n.jpgI really did want to love this blend but I think it’s just one of those tisanes that just isn’t for me. I’ve never really been a huge fan of herbal tisanes I enjoy the fruity ones much more. I’ll deffinelty go back to this blend in a few months and see if my opinions on it change, if they do I’ll deffinelty come back to this post and update my opinions and teacup ratings. As I always say never let my person opinions stop you from trying teas and tisanes you never know they may taste completely different to you and you might end up loving them. Just because a certain blend isn’t my cup of tea doesn’t mean it won be yours.

Overall Teacup Rating: 3/5

If you want to find out more about Steenberg’s & purchase this blend for yourself, you can do both here. As always if you have any questions at all either stick them in the comments or send them to me on Twitter/Instagram @teaisawishblog and I’ll answer them all as soon as I can.

Speak to you all again soon. Happy Steeping – Kimberley
