Tea of the day #3 is T2 Tea’s Mulberry Ripple. This tisane was originally released in the summer of 2018 and was originally named Mulberry Mayhem. It’s been temporarily released this year alongside 5 other ex-limited edition teas and tisanes for 6 months only. So in July there’s a chance it could disappear again unless it sells really well company wise in which case thy will keep it permanently (so if you want to try it go and buy a box as soon as possible). When I saw that T2 had released this blend again and that they had an offer on that would allow me to get 25% off if I bought three gift cubes of tea I had to take a trip to my local store and pick up a box to try cold brewed along with two other re-released blends before they were not longer available (any excuse to buy and try new teas and tisanes … right?).
Here’s what T2 have to say about this blend on their website: ”Soft green bamboo, lush raspberry pieces, mulberries and a scattering of marigold and jasmine petals combine with subtly creamy notes. A delicate and delightfully ethereal picnic addition!”
Ingredients: Apple bits (apple, acidifier: E334), mulberries (8.5%), raspberries, natural and artificial flavouring, orange petals, rose petals, marigold petals, bamboo leaves, jasmine blossoms (V).
The day after buying this I put some in my T2 Jug-a-Lot to cold brew overnight so I could have a cup this morning and I loved that first cup so much that I had finished my 1.2L just of it before it was even lunch time. Normally when it come to T2 I will almost always try and pop into my local T2 (in Meadowhall) and try anything new they bring out so I know before buying whether or not I like it but I didn’t do that with this blend (or the other two I picked up) as I’ve been having a bad time with my migraines recently and I just wasn’t able to make it into store. So I went into trying this, this morning completely blind not knowing what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised when I took my first sip and found that this blend was beyond amazing.
The only way I can describe this blend (iced) is that it tastes just like raspberry ripple ice cream. I’m not sure how T2 managed to create that flavour profile without any cream elements but they did and it’s magical. With apple being the first ingredient on the list I expected it to taste more like apple than anything and was surprised to find that the raspberry came through much stronger. It’s a very naturally sweet blend so I wouldn’t recommend adding any honey and I would only suggest having this blend iced I can’t imagine it would be nearly as nice when steeped hot it just one of those blends that is made to be iced. All in all I really enjoy this blend and I’m glad I picked a box up when I did though I won’t be surprised if that box is gone before the end of this week.
If you want to find out more about T2 and buy some of this amazing blend for yourself, you can do both here. As always if you have any questions at all either stick them in the comments or send them to me on Twitter/Instagram @teaisawishblog and I’ll answer them all as soon as I can.
Speak to you all again soon. Happy Steeping – Kimberley
