Let’s Talk Tea | T2 Tea – Organic Matcha | Review

Hey there Teacups! I’m back today with another Let’s Talk Tea post and this time around I’m going to be reviewing T2’s Organic Matcha. They very kindly sent me some to try out so I’ve chosen to review it today and I finally bring back Matcha Monday (Something I started and mainly do on Instagram but try to link it to a blog post whenever I can). I couldn’t think of a better way to bring back Matcha Monday than review a Matcha from one of my favourite tea companies out there right now. I honestly still can’t believe that know my little corner of the internet exists let alone that they wanted to sent me teas to review. I know I probably don’t have to say this but I will because I know someone will pick me up on it if I don’t… Yes a love T2 and this Matcha was gifted but neither of those things will affect this review and the opinions in the post are my own and have not been paid for.

I’ve actually tried this Matcha before when I did my one on one Matcha Masterclass with T2 at their Meadowhall branch but it’s been quite a while and because I’ve had quite a few new Matcha’s to try since I’ve just not gotten round to going into store and picking myself up a tin. The one thing I remember about this Matcha from my masterclass is just how smooth and creamy this Matcha was so when I saw that T2 had chosen to send me this I couldn’t have been happier.54207511_1901841166591835_5570488461682540544_nHere’s What T2 have to say about their Organic Matcha on their website: Our 100% certified organic Matcha is a fine, highly prized powdered green tea traditionally used as part of the Japanese tea ceremony.

Tea Tasting Notes

T2 Matcha is made using tencha, green tea leaves that have been grown under shade for at least two – three weeks. After the leaves are picked they are steamed immediately to lock in that vibrant green goodness, then refrigerated until they’re ready to be ground into Matcha. They grind their Matcha on demand to ensure. They grind their Matcha on demand so that they can ensure a good shelf life. T2’s Matcha is insanely smooth, cream and ever so slight sweet and I could drink it non stop. It really packs a vegetal punch that I just can’t get enough of, As amazing as their flavoured matchas are I honestly think I prefer this one and after this tin is gone I’ll no doubt end up investing in another tin. If you are hesitant at all about trying Matcha I highly recommend giving this one a shot and starting off your Matcha journey with a bang.

Another thing I love about T2’s organic Matcha is just how much of an amazing long-lasting froth I was able to create with it. There are a lot of Matchas out there that you have to whisk for a long time to make any sort of froth but with this one it only takes about a minute and it lasts for such a long time. Many Matchas I’ve had have lost their froth within seconds and nothing is as disappointing as that, this one however not only held its froth while I got the milk ready for my latte but even held it’s ground after I added the milk which ever happens for me.

While T2’s Matcha is amazing on its own and shines in its own right there are two things I love to use it for. When drinking it hot I like to have it as a latte with oatly barista and a dash of honey and when have it iced I like to make something that T2 call Matcha Fresh which is iced Matcha with either still or sparkling water and slices of lemon. I was taught how to make that at my masterclass and I’ve loved it ever since especially during summer because it’s so incredibly refreshing. One of my favourite things about Matcha is just how versatile it is  you can do so many things with it and the possibilities are pretty much endless.

Overall Teacup Rating: 5/5

If you want to find out more about T2 Tea and purchase some of their amazing organic Matcha for yourself, you can do both here. As always if you have any questions at all either stick them in the comments or send them to me on Twitter/Instagram @teaisawishblog and I’ll answer them all as soon as I can.

Speak to you all again soon. Happy Steeping – Kimberley
