Hey there Teacups! I’m back today with another Let’s Talk Teaware post and this time around I’m going to be reviewing 2 Infuser Bottles from the lovely Magic & Science Gals. As you all know trying out different teaware is one of my favourite things to do so when the Magic & Science Gals asked me if I wanted to review their bottles for this series I jumped at the chance to try them out and hoped more than anything that I would have a good experience with them. As much as I love trying out new teaware and adding it to my collection I’ve had a lot of products let me down recently and there nothing sadder than new teaware not meeting your expectations and letting you down. Luckily that wasn’t the case with these bottle from the Magic & Science Gals, in fact they blew all of my expectations out of the water. Here’s what The Magic & Science Gals have to say about these bottles on their website: ”The Magic & Science Mystic and Gam Tea Infusion Glass Water Bottles give you the opportunity to flavour your water anyway you want. Bits of fruit, flowers and tealeaves are cradled in a stainless steel metal infuser at the bottom of the bottle. With your infusion bottles, you may drink in a variety of ways: hot, cool or sparkling. Perfect for quenching your thirst throughout the day; or great if you find the taste of water too bland. Magic & Science Mystic Tea Infusion Glass Water Bottles provide an opportunity to change your hydration options with magical endless ideas to satisfy your own taste.”
My Experience with the Gem & Mystic Water Bottles
The Gem Water Bottle
The Gem water bottle is made specifically for dried fruit tisanes and I would say large leaf teas as well because the holes in the infuser basket are larger to allow whatever you put in there the space to fully infuse and unfurl. Since this bottle arrived at my house I’ve used it to for dried fruit tisanes, iced Matcha lattes because the infuser works quite well to break up the Matcha (like a whisk) and I’ve even taken out the infuser and used this bottle to make blooming teas. It really is such an incredibly versatile bottle and the amount of things you can do with it is great.
It does a better job at keeping things cold than it does hot but during the summer that’s what I’ve needed so I’ve used this bottle pretty much everyday. It’s really easy to clean and the parts are really easy to take apart luckily. It’s also really strong, which helps because I’m a very clumsy person and I’ve knocked this over multiple times and there not even a mark on it. I expected it to be much more delicate with it being made of glass. If you’re anything like me and you struggle to enjoy just water on it’s own I highly recommend this bottle because you can use it too infuse absolutely anything not just tea so it’s really versatile.
The Mystic Water Bottle
Now the Mystic bottle I would say is my favourite of the two; that’s not to say that I don’t love using the Gem but the look of this one is much more me. I use this one specifically for tea and nothing else and so unlike the Gem this does a better job of keeping this hot and it does cold. I’m not sure why because they are made of pretty much all the same materials but this is perfect for hot tea. During summer I haven’t used this one too much but now the autumn is pretty much here I’ll be using this one a lot more, especially while I’m travelling. I love the fact that it can be used with or without the infuser and it’s makes for great pictures (that’s the photographer in me coming out).
One thing I will say is that the glass does get quite warm so if you are going to take it out of the house with you I would suggest using a perfect stepper or something like that to steep your tea and transfer it to this bottle after it’s cooled to drinking temp. I don’t do this if I’m just using it while I’m in the house but I’ve found it’s the best thing to do before you take it out with you. Just like the Gem, all of this bottles elements are really easy to take apart and really easy to clean. I can’t wait to use this every day throughout the autumn and the winter it’s going to be the perfect piece of teaware to see me through so many seasons.
All in all I really enjoyed using both of these bottles and I’m beyond thankful to The Magic & Science Gals for very kindly gifting me both of these bottles to try out they have been a dream and I highly recommend them to everyone looking for new infuser bottles. If like me you’re looking for new tea to try all the time I really can’t recommend The Magic & Since Gals and their products more, not just because they have been amazing to work with but because their products both tea and teaware are amazing and you can tell a lot of care, attention, hard work and of course magic goes into each and every one of them.
If you want to find out more about the Magic & Science Gals and purchase one of their water/tea bottle for yourself you can do both here. As always if you have any questions at all either stick them in the comments or send them to me on Twitter/Instagram @teaisawishblog and I’ll answer them all as soon as I can.
Speak to you all again soon. Happy Steeping – Kimberley
