Let’s Talk Tea | Green Tea House – Premium Organic Matcha | Review

Hey there Teacups! Happy Matcha Monday I hope your week is off to a good start. I’m back today with another Let’s Talk Tea post and this time around I’m going to be reviewing Green Tea House’s – Organic Matcha. I was so happy to see that Green Tea House had included this in the package they very kindly sent me because as you all know I’ve been looking for new Matcha to try recently and feature on #matchamonday over on my Instagram. Things don’t always line up and I don’t normally get to bring #matchamonday to my blog as well but this time around things just happened to fall into place and I’m so happy that they did.

Here’s what Green Tea House have to say about this Matcha over on their website: A premium quality finely milled premium organic Matcha powder from leaves shaded from direct sunlight for 20-30 days before picking from Kyoto in Japan. This premium organic Matcha does not leave a bitter or sharp taste in your mouth like the best quality Matcha.

This is our most popular Matcha and the vast majority of people that try this quality Matcha powder at tea tastings we have around the country are surprised how mild and palatable it is compared to other lesser quality Matcha available on the market.68913304_377146436257153_6875849664273317888_n.jpg

Tea Tasting Notes

For this tasting session I tried this Matcha on its own and as an iced latte as I normally would when trying a new Matcha for the first time but this one really took me by surprise. The reason it took me by surprise is because it was so much more intense than a lot of the Matchas I’ve had recently. Normally I prefer Matcha on it’s own because I love how it can be vegetal, creamy, sweet and buttery all at the same time.

I very rarely enjoy a Matcha more as a latte than I do on it’s own but that wasn’t the case with this Matcha. Because of how strong this Matcha is, it was just too much for me on it’s own and I couldn’t drink more than half a small cup full, but that strength made for an absolutely amazing iced latte and unlike other Matchas that are sometimes drowned out by the milk I use, this one stood it’s ground and didn’t waver.

I would suggest purchasing this specific Matcha if like me you love a strong Matcha latte and you are yet to find the perfect Matcha for you.

If you love drinking Matcha on it’s own I personally wouldn’t go for this because it’s just too strong for me but don’t let stop you for trying it yourself. I would urge everyone to give this a try both ways just so you can experience how unique this Matcha really is. This is one of the most intensely strong Matchas I’ve ever had and for that reason it really stands out to me. It’s one I would purchase time and time again even it I do only end up using it to make lattes.

Overall Teacup Rating 4.9/5
