Hey there Teacups! I’m back today with my very first Let’s Talk Teaware post of 2020 and thing time around I’m going to be reviewing Ohelo’s – Pink Blossom Insulated Tumbler. As I’m sure you all know by now I have lots of tea flask and insulted travel cups but I have never had an insulated tumbler so when Ohelo said they wanted to collaborate with me for my Let’s Talk Teaware series I jumped at the opportunity to collaborate with a new company and I’m very glad that I did. I have been using this now since it arrived at my house in December and I just had to make sure that it was the first piece of teaware that I reviewed this year.
Here’s what Ohelo have to say about this tumbler over on their website: ” So much more than a reusable coffee cup. Our double-walled vacuum insulated tumbler has a stainless steel mesh attachment that lets you quench your thirst with the tipple that best suits your needs. This delicate cherry blossom design is inspired by beautiful spring blooms. It is laser etched on to the surface for an extra special finish.”
I’ve now been using this Tumbler for a while and the reason I haven’t reviewed it sooner is because I wanted to make sure I had thoroughly used it and made sure it was of a good quality and delivered on what It promised to do. I wanted to make sure that I could write the most well rounded review for this tumbler for you guys and help you decide whether or not this is the right piece of teaware for you. After all That the reason I write these reviews I write these reviews and try out these new pieces of teaware so you can all make sure you are spending your money on something worthwhile.
My Overall Thoughts
Very quickly before I get into my review this tumbler hold 400ml and it’s safe to use for both hot and iced tea. It’s double walled and vacuum insulated meaning that you can’t feel the temp of the liquid inside and when you make iced it doesn’t have any condensation on the outside. You can also drink from anywhere around the lid and it has a mesh attachment so it can be used to make any beverage you wish.
I have now used this for both hot tea and iced tea and so far over the last few weeks I haven’t had any problems with it at all which is almost unheard of when it comes to travel teaware. There had only ever been 4 pieces of ”travel” teaware that I haven’t had any problems with; there is a much longer list of teaware that I’ve had problems with so I love finding new teaware that is faultless and takes away so much stress when it comes to travelling with tea. Though I will say that I also use this tumbler in the house when I want my tea to stay hot / cold when I’m having a blog post writing day and it’s been an absolute dream.I really do regret not trying out a tea tumbler sooner because this one really has been perfect for me. I love that its leak proof and because I’m so clumsy because the pain I deal with daily really effects my balance and makes me dizzy, so I’m always dropping things and spilling things so this tumbler stops me from doing that. I won’t lie, I have dropped it but it’s not damaged it at all I’ve dropped it when it’s been empty and been full and nothing as spilled out of it at all. I’m hoping that over time it will withstand me dropping it and it won’t get damaged but only time will tell. I wouldn’t recommend steeping tea in this as you could only really use full leaf tea and it would be hard to get it out so I recommend using a basket infuser and make life easier for yourself. What I will say is to make sure that you leave enough space for the lid element when you place your water in otherwise you will do what I did and tea will go everywhere because you over filled it. That was my fault though and not the fault of Ohelo though I would have liked some sort of marker inside the mug to show me where to fill it up to as to not spill anything. I really enjoy the fact that you can drink from anywhere around the lid because it means that if you are traveling with it you don’t have to fumble with it to find the right place to drink from though make sure when you’ve closed it that all drops of tea left behind are gone so they don’t sip out and end up all over everything.
Design wise Ohelo really couldn’t have made a Tumbler that was more ”ME” not only is it a beautiful shade of pink but it also features my all time favourite flowers Sakura beautifully etched into it. It really is one of the most aesthetically pleasing pieces of teaware I have ever owned. You also don’t have to use it with the lid on which is what I will probably do during summer when I have lots of iced tea and I’ll use a straw instead of the lid. I was a little bit worried that the all the little elements of the lid would be quite hard to clean but they all easily pop apart so you can clean each unlike a few travel cups I’ve had that were practically impossible to clean properly. All in all this is an excellent piece of teaware that I know I’m going to get a lot of use out of during 2020. I’m so thankful I was given the chance to try it and I’ll definitely make sure I keep my eye out for more tea tumblers now I know how great they are. It would be nice to have something to compare this one to though I’m sure it will be hard for me to find something as great as this one.
Overall Teacup Rating: 5/5
If you want to know more about Ohelo and purchase one of these Tumblers for yourself, you can do both here. As always if you have any questions at all either stick them in the comments or send them to me on Twitter/Instagram @teaisawishblog and I’ll answer them all as soon as I can.
