Let’s Talk Tea | Brin d’Arômes – Novelty Tea Bags & Tea | Review

Hey there Teacups! I’m back today with another Let’s Talk Tea post and this time around I’m going to be reviewing a selection of shaped teabags filled with different teas from Brin d’Arômes . They very kindly sent me three different shaped bags to review and up until now because of my health during 2019 I’ve just not had time to post my reviews of them. So as to not keep them waiting any longer for separate reviews of each design I’m going to review them all here in this post and all of my reviews out in one go. I had to take a big break from blogging as regularly as I would have liked in 2019 due to my health getting worse so I’m really playing catch up at the moment.

I was very kindly gifted three different teas in three different shaped bags, In the moon bags is a black tea, In the star bags is a jasmine green tea and in the turtle bags is a pure/unflavoured green tea, I was offered the choice of which bags and tea I would have liked to try but I left the choice to the owner as there was just too many adorable designs and things to choose from and I wanted to see which of her teas and teabags she would have like me to try the most. If you’re planning a tea party for absolutely any occasion I am more than sure that these novelty tea bags would be perfect, there really is a shape for absolutely every theme.

Tea Tasting Notes

RoundPhoto_Mar112020_075444Black Tea – Moon Bags | As you all know I’m a huge fan of a classic black tea so when I opened the package that was sent to me and I saw that a black tea had been included I couldn’t have been happier. It was a very light black tea but that might just have been the fact that I like my tea strong and there wasn’t too much tea in each of the bags. I have found that using two teabags at a time helps the tea to be a little stronger but I understand that if you are buying these for a party you probably wouldn’t want to do that, since these were for personal use I don’t mind using them that way. It had a light mouthfeel with a good amount of maltiness but doesn’t stand it’s ground against milk or honey, this is a black tea that is just better on its own. I like the novelty of the tea bags for parties but for day to day use they are definitely not something I would use, yes they are very cute and very well made but they don’t hold that much tea and they don’t leave the tea too much room to expand which it really does need. They would be great for parties and I definitely see the aesthetic appeal they have.

RoundPhoto_Mar112020_075549Jasmine Green Tea – Star Bags | I won’t lie to you all I’m not a huge fan of Jasmine in tea, mostly because its normally very strong and very floral and it tend to trigger my migraines so I never normally buy teas with jasmine in them. So, I was a little bit worried about trying this tea but I need not have been worried as just like the black tea this was a very light tea. It was smooth, ever so slightly vegetal and had the tiniest hit of jasmine but all in all it was very light and thankfully because the jasmine was light, it didn’t trigger a migraine so I was very happy about that. Again these bags are really cute but there wasn’t enough tea in them for me. These would be a great choice for a baby shower or a gender reveal party or would even be great for those sleep over parties that seem to be so popular lately. Again I wouldn’t use these for every day tea drinking but I can see where they would fit into the tea market.

RoundPhoto_Mar112020_075721Green Tea – Turtle Bags | I love a pure / unflavoured green tea especially in the afternoon as they tend to pair really well with savoury foods so I was really excited to see that one had been included in the package I was sent. Again just like the other two teas that I tried this is quite a light tea and I’ll be honest I did expect a little more from it. Don’t get me wrong its smooth, and vegetal but its very one note and a little bit flat which was a bit disappointing. Juts like the others these bags and the teas within them have their place and are not in my opinion intended for everyday use. These would be great for a little mermaid or moana themed party or even just a sea themed part or baby shower. They are cute and the tea inside them was nice to drink but they are not something I would reach for over other teas.
