Tea Together Tuesday (19) | My Current Favourite Fruity Tea

Hey there Teacups! It’s finally time for another Tea Together Tuesday post. We’ve almost been doing this for five months now and I can’t quite believe everyone is still enjoying it so much. I didn’t think this would still be something we were all doing so many months after it started, I was so worried that after a few weeks people may lose interest but you all proved me wrong and it means so much to me that you are all still enjoying taking part because its so nice to see that there is one day each week where all of the tea community come together and just chat about the things they love the most about tea.

This weeks prompt is: “What is your favourite fruity tea or tisane?” which was suggested to us by @erickhaydenactor over on Instagram last time we asked for prompt suggestions. I think this is one of the prompts that was suggested to Jann and I’m so glad she picked it as one of the prompts she wanted us to feature during this month. I myself am not a huge fan of fruity blends especially hot fruity blends but that this time of the year there is one very specific kind of fruity blend I tend to reach for: either a dessert blend with apple, or a spiced blend with apple. There’s just something about apple either paired with things like cinnamon or toffee / caramel that makes me think of Autumn & Winter.

Now you all know that I’m sure that none of you will be surprised toffee that I picked The Lichfield Tea Co’s – Toffee Apple blend as my current favourite fruity tea. It’s a black tea based dessert blend that combines toffee, caramel and apple together and I couldn’t think of a fruity blend more perfect to kick start the autumn with. This kind of blend is really as far as I go with fruity blends especially at this time of the year when I don’t drink as many iced teas. There aren’t many fruity notes that I enjoy hot so fruity teas other than ones with apple in are something I don’t tend to drink in the later months of the year, that just something about hot apple notes that I really enjoy. They also pair perfectly with toffee notes and both of them together remind me of Halloween & Bonfire night.

The black tea base is full bodied, smooth, malty, slightly woody and it’s the perfect choice of tea to blend flavours like toffee and apple with, I’m not suite sure how The Lichfield Tea company manages to create that toffee element in this blend but it’s smooth and somewhat creamy which makes this blend feel so indulgent. The vanilla is subtle but present and definitely also amplifies the creamy element of this blend a bit. I’ve had this three ways so far and but my favourite ways to have it are with a little bit of honey added (hot) and it also is delicious with a bit of milk added which I wasn’t expecting at all. It makes me want to try it as a latte as soon as I can, with a little cinnamon sprinkled on top.

I’ve tried a few blends over the last few years that have tried to replicate a toffee apple like flavour profile but I think that this one is the best I have had to be honest. It does the best job of replicating the flavour profile and it is unmistakably toffee apple rather than just being a hint of it like the others I have tried. Also not one single element of this blend comes across as artificial, it’s just sweet, indulgent, smooth, creamy and all round autumnal bliss in a mug.

This will definitely be a staple in my tea cupboard throughout the last few months of 2020 along side quite a few other blends with apple in actually. This one is fantastically balanced and well thought out, I’m really thankful I was given the chance to try it, it’s one I would purchase time and time again when autumn rolls around. It gets a Overall Teacup Rating of 5/5 from me. Now it’s September I’m going into full autumn / winter mode and I’m beyond excited for the rest of this year. I drink so much more tea during this time of the year because autumn and winter teas are my absolute favourite and I try my best to hold off from drinking them until this time of the year. Blends like this are great because they enable you to bring a fruit element into autumn and winter but it’s not something have to have iced, I find it bridges the gap between the seasons perfectly.

So there you have it that is my current favourite fruity tea! By this time next week you could probably ask me this same question and I have no doubt it may have changed but for now this is my choice. I feel like my choice of blend will be much more autumnal than anyone else’s but that is the fun of Tea Together Tuesday, it let’s us find out about each others personal preferences and shows us how differently we all experience tea.

Let me know you’re favourite fruity tea in the comments and if you’ve posted for Tea Together Tuesday anywhere online leaves your links as well. If you want to find out more about The Lichfield Tea Co and purchase some of this blend you can do both here.

Speak to you all again soon. happy Steeping – Kimberley

      1. So glad you’re enjoying plum deluxe. I have specific series now “Stateside Steeps” that just features teas and tisanes that are available in the US. I’ve got lots of post planned for then going forward so keep your eye out for them

      2. That’s a lot of work! I hope that your health is improving. The blog is supposed to be fun, not work, so when you don’t feel good and don’t post, it’s ok. We’re always happy to see you, but understand when life is in the way.

      3. I’ll be honest it is a lot of work but when I have lower pain days working on my blog is the best for me. Having that creative outlet keeps my mind busy on something. Haven’t been too good the last few days and feel so bad for not positing but I will be posting tomorrow
